Where the numbers come from

Federal figures come from IRS revenue procedures (Rev. Proc. 2025-32 for 2026, Rev. Proc. 2024-40 as amended by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for 2025), IRS form instructions and the Social Security Administration. State brackets come from Tax Foundation compilations of state law, spot-checked against state revenue departments.
